More than 170 million plastic particles are floating in the sea, an incredible number and one that is – unfortunately – set to grow in the coming years, even though serious action is finally beginning to be taken. In this sense, removing particles already in the environment is not enough; the problem must be addressed at the source. One of the methods that can be used to solve this problem is the system from Nautical Water Italy, a new brand of Ecoplus Group that deals with water purification. Here’s how it works.
How to have drinking water aboard
Nautical Water Italy ‘s system purifies and filters water using the process of reverse osmosis while simultaneously performing tank disinfection. The water treatment methods used by Nautical Water Italy have been tried and tested for more than two decades, as the brand is part of the Ecoplus Group, which has been involved in water purification in the dental medical and food sectors since 2003.

The added value of Nautical Water Italy’s products is Ecoplus Group’s patent, which combines the action of reverse osmosis with that of chlorine dioxide in its products. This brand’s machines make it possible to completely eliminate the bulk, weight, and waste that are a consequence of using plastic bottles and small bottles. With a simple installation, it is possible to have a self-contained, simple and sustainable system capable of delivering ready-to-drink cold/room temperature water and even carbonated water.
Nautical Water Italy’s products draw water directly from the tanks that are on board the boat, after which they proceed with treatment and purification to have water ready to drink. They use chemical agents (such as chlorine dioxide) that have the highest bacterial charge abatement properties, with the advantage of not compromising the water system and plumbing. The basic system is called Alfa, while the more advanced one-theOmega-is also capable of distributing cold, room-temperature, natural or sparkling osmotized water, with a production capacity of 90 liters per hour.
To add an extra layer of safety, since there are also ideal conditions for bacteria to proliferate inside tanks and plants, the tank sanitization system can be installed.
