Ineos Team Britannia crew to be dressed by Henri Lloyd for America’s Cup 2024

We are less and less away from the America’s Cup 2024 to be held in the waters off Barcelona. How will the members of the Cup teams and crews dress? Although many brands and teams have not yet revealed details, we are able to give you an idea of what you will find in the collections designed for this special occasion. Here’s a preview of the apparel the teams are wearing that you can have, too.

New York Yacht Club American Magic

Star-Spangled Pride

Helly Hansen_American Magic CREW SHIRT

The partnership between the Helly Hansen brand and the American team, the most successful in the history of the world’s oldest sports trophy, is renewed. The collaboration between the Norwegian company and the star country does not stop there, as it also dresses the U.S. national team. This technical long-sleeved jersey is full of details reminiscent of the USA: the flag on the left sleeve, the small logo at heart height, and the large logo on the back.

Emirates Team New Zealand

Italy dresses the champions…

Slam - ETNZ LIGHT JKT

Italy returns to prominence in global nautical apparel with the partnership signed between Slam and the New Zealand team. The collection that will dress the champions engaged in defending the Cup in Barcelona, developed in symbiosis with the team, has its replica counterpart to dress all fans and enthusiasts. The most interesting garment is this summer jacket made of ultralight waterproof and breathable fabric, perfect both on board and for urban use.

Slam_ETNZ Cap

The most classic of boating accessories, in a version that replicates the cap worn by members of New Zealand’s defender team. Made of cotton twill with a back band for adjustment, the cap has a drawstring to attach it to the T-shirt and prevent it from flying off in the wind. On the visor is the Emirates Team New Zealand logo while in the other areas are the logos of the main sponsors.

SailRacing_Alinghi ARBNR GORE TEX JACKET

Swiss team Alinghi Red Bull has chosen Swedish brand Sail Racing as its technical partner for the Spanish challenge to the Cup. Prominent among the items that can be purchased as replicas is the waxed GoreTex jacket, which is available in a limited edition for only a few enthusiasts (in fact, only 80 were produced). Its features: three-layer fabric, detachable hood, inner lining and protected pockets. And then graphic customizations with sponsors and team name.

Swiss shoes with holes in them

On_ Alinghi Cloud 5 Coast

Just like one of its most famous national products in the world (Emmentaler cheese), the Swiss brand On Running filled its running shoes with holes, presented in a boat version in collaboration with the Alinghi team. Reinforced heel and non-slip sole, ultra-lightweight design (just over 200 grams) and quick lacing system make this shoe the perfect boating ally, to be worn strictly without socks.

The British do it themselves

Ineos Britannia - Henri Lloyd - Smock

After its acquisition by the Swedish Odloa group vven in 2022-Manchester brand Henri Lloyd returns to dress the English Cup team with an ad hoc collection. The first garment we saw used during the preliminary races was a spray-top with taped seams and AquaGuard waterproof zippers. Both the cuffs and the waist and collar are adjustable to adapt the fit of the garment to the wearer.

An icon since 1997

Prada_Luna Rossa_Sneaker

Prada’s PS0906 shoe was introduced a full 27 years ago, in 1997, and later became known to all as the “America’s Cup sneaker.” This is because it will be at the feet of Luna Rossa team members who will participate in the Cup campaign for the first time in 2000. Prada-in collaboration with The Woolmark Company-is still working on the collection for the 2024 edition of the trophy, but the sneaker will surely be seen again on Barcelona’s piers.

New entry in the French team

K-Way_Orient_Express

“Brand vulgarization,” is what happens when the proper name of a brand, or its product, becomes the common name by which we refer to the category of those products. It happened with K-Way, the quintessential rain jacket brand, which has now decided to enter sailing apparel through the front door, that of the America’s Cup. K-Way-part of the Italian BasicNet group-has yet to unveil its collection for the French team, but they will definitely take a cue from this icon.
