Hanse is preparing to unveil its new flagship for the summer of 2024, with a world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival. We are talking about the new Hanse 590, kept until now in great secrecy by the German Group, which will replace the 588 in the yard’s range. A boat that heralds huge spaces and solutions for easy cruising.
Hanse 590, what we already know
The design of the boat was entrusted to Berret-Racoupeau, who designed an angular hull at the front, but tried to keep the bow exits streamlined despite a beam that would seem considerable. Technical data on the boat have not yet been released, but from the renders it is apparent that the boat has a pronounced and fairly consistent beam from amidships to the stern, suggesting a large dimette and spacious aft cabins.
The hardtop is offered as an option, while the sunbathing area in the bow is placed close to the deckhouse step, while the large garage with Smart Tender System behind the huge swim platform will be located aft. New on the deck is the rigid splash guard, a solution already successfully explored by the Hallberg Rassy shipyard, which is more elegant than the classic “canopy.”

The rigging layout includes only 4 winches, all behind the two wheelhouses, two in the front and two on the side in the special inside position. Double forestay at the bow, as on recent Hanse models, proposes as an option, rather than a larger jib in place of the self-tacking, the installation of a sort of Code Zero/Genoa to be used for upwind in low wind or transoms in a stiff breeze.

Away with the mainsail! The DolceVela concept is what vacationing boaters demand (and already do)
