In Valenje, Slovenia, there is a manufacturer that has been making accessories for installation on sailboats since 1998. It is called Carbonautica and makes from rudder wheels to gangways to flagpoles, using high-end techniques and materials such as carbon and fiberglass (GFC). In Italy, the exclusive dealer of Carbonautica products is Adria Ship, a reference in the Adriatic and also importer of the Catana, Bali Catamarans Viko brands.
The wheels from the top of the class
The use of fiberglass allows Carbonautica to have extremely low weight wheels, approaching that of aluminum or carbon, but with a much lower price tag. Handling fiberglass composite wheels, moreover, returns sensations quite similar to when handling those of other materials. Carbonautica’s carbon rudder wheels have a monocoque design, are extremely light and easy to handle, and can be customized. The wheels are available in different sizes and with four different spoke designs
Carbonautica: Gangways and flagpoles
In their Slovenian laboratories, Carbonautica specialists also design and manufacture other boat components from carbon or GFC (Glass Fiber Composite). In fact, the range also includes folding and fixed walkways that are very lightweight, have a very elegant minimal design, and above all are durable and practical to use. In fact, when they are not in use, just store them on board with ease, and thanks to the light weight, it will not be difficult to position and move it even frequently. The walkways are very easy to assemble and have a load capacity of 400 kilograms, plus they are buoyant so they can be retrieved from the water in case of an accidental fall.
Flagpoles are also among the most popular accessories in Carbonautica‘s range. They are also made of carbon or GFC, available in different colors and in three different lengths (100 – 120 and 150 centimeters).
