The Catana Group is preparing to celebrate the 10th birthday of the Bali brand, with the 14th catamaran ready to hit the market. It is the Bali 5.8, the latest evolution of the super-comfortable cat cruiser idea according to the French shipyard, as well as Bali Catamarans’ new flagship.
The 5.8 will be a concentration of all the typical Bali characteristics, starting with the mantra of the site, which is the search for spaces.
Bali 5.8, what a boat it will be
At 18 meters long and over 9 meters wide, the new model promises XXL spaces without compromise. The salon-cockpit is the brand’s DNA, and once again the overhead door is repurposed to make indoor and outdoor one big room.
The kitchen is generously sized, with tall cabinets for ample storage, a large and convenient countertop. The dining area is designed to incorporate seating and a table for 12 people. The deep and wide outdoor bench facing the lounge allows you to stretch out, sit, sleep or chat, all while remaining connected to both the lounge and the sea.
Finally, the large bow door and large opening window allow great light inside, protected from UV rays and the sun, while providing a ventilation tunnel throughout the boat. What’s more, the front door connects with one of the highlights of the Bali, the classic front cockpit, of which the shipyard is a pioneer.
Also not to be overlooked is the fly bridge, a veritable covered terrace that serves as a lounge area as well as housing the external wheelhouse and rigging.
The proposed sail plan includes a square-top mainsail, accompanied by a self-tacking jib and a Code Zero Armed on the bow delphiniera, with 210 sq. m. of upwind sail area.
