There is a model that allows you to gain up to 1.5 knots of speed, plus it can recharge the on-board batteries. It is called EnergyMatic and is an all-Italian excellence produced by Ewol. EnergyMatic is equipped with automatic return, so capable of positioning itself to flag without having to turn off the engine and engage reverse gear, plus this propeller can be turned into a full-fledged hydrogenerator.

The performance propeller that also charges batteries.

EnergyMatic is the SuperDuplex stainless steel option that in addition to all the features of the Ewol range, including micrometric pitch adjustment, combines innovative technology. In fact, EnergyMatic is the propeller that can also function as a hydrogenerator. That’s right, when sailing, in fact, the propeller can be placed in the “Recharge” position and turns into an electric turbine, which can generate power useful for example to recharge on-board batteries.

At present, the version of Ewol propeller compatible with the technology EnergyMatic is Orion’s 3-blade propeller, recommended for diameters from 17″ to 25″ and ideal for sailboats from 10 to about 16 meters, in combination with electric motors from 15 to 80 Kw or diesel engines from 40 to 160 hp power. Soon, however, EnergyMatic will also be available on the Gemini and Pegasus 4-blade propellers. Below are the specifications of Ewol’s four propellers.

Ewol’s four options (3- or 4-blade)

  • Andromeda (3 bl ades) – Super Duplex stainless steel 3-blade steerable propeller equipped with micrometric pitch adjustment, Andromeda is suitable for boats from 6 to 11 meters and engines from 7 to 40 hp.
  • Orion (3-blade) – Super Duplex stainless steel 3-blade steerable propeller equipped with micrometric pitch adjustment, Orion is suitable for sailboats from 9 to 18 meters and between 40 and 160 hp. Available in EnergyMatic version
  • Gemini (4-blade) – Super Duplex stainless steel 4-blade steerable propeller equipped with micrometric pitch adjustment, Gemini is the propeller suitable for medium-large yachts from 15 to 21 meters and with engines from 100 to 250 hp. Soon available in an EnergyMatic version.
