This is the best time to purchase a berth. In fact, the boom that boating has had in recent years in terms of new boats at sea has not-so far-been followed by an increase in berths: a long-standing problem found along Italy’s coasts. This is also why one of the most popular formulas until recently, that of renting, is no longer as advantageous as before, and may even no longer be available in some ports. One of the most interesting formulas for securing a berth is a kind of hybrid buy-to-let elaborated by the
Marina d’Arechi
. Here’s how it works.

Buy your berth for 20 0 70 years

In many marinas in Italy, it has become almost impossible to find a berth even on a daily basis, let alone seasonally and in the high season…This problem has prompted more and more boat owners to choose to commit to and purchase a fixed berth, which allows the security of having a place to keep their boat all year round, without nasty surprises. There are often several reasons that scare off those who want to purchase a berth, such as being tied to a berth that is suitable for a boat of a certain size, with the inability to change boats because you are constrained to the size that the berth can accommodate. Then there is definitely the not inconsiderablefinancial commitment to be considered, which is much higher (at the entrance) than rent. The very scarcity of berths, however, affects prices by raising the value of the individual berth. This means that berth rent is likely to rise in the coming years, and the value of a berth purchased today may at the same medo (probably) increase. Marina d’Arechi has come up with a new proposal that brings buying and renting a berth closer together, combining the advantages of one and the other.

The formula worked out by Marina d’Arechi involves the purchase of a berth for a time duration of 20 or 70 years with a price that also includes management fees and several benefits:

  • priority mooring assignment
  • Assured savings of more than 50 percent over the annual rental rate
  • possibility of replacing the berth if you change the boat
  • possibility of transferring ownership of the surface right and stacking of the place in one’s own name (only for Option 70 years)
  • possible back purchase at guaranteed price (only for Option 70 years)

Mooring in front of the Amalfi Coast

Mooring at Marina d’Arechi – Salerno Port Village allows you to be with your boat in the center of one of the most beautiful and visited areas of the Mediterranean: the Gulf overlooking the Amalfi Coast. The port is located east of the city of Salerno, not far from some mythical destinations such as Capri, Positano, and the Cilento area, convenient to reach by high-speed rail network and by car or plane, since it is only a few kilometers from Salerno and Naples Capodichino airports. Marina d’Arechi has 1,000 berths for boats from 10 to 100 meters in length and many services for boaters. In addition to the “classic” services such as refueling, laundry, galley with typical gastronomic products, and drinking water at the berth, there are also more advanced services such as bike sharing, helicopter transfer, and limousine service.

If you are interested in finding out about these formulas in detail, you can visit the Marina d’Arechi booth at Boot Düsseldorf scheduled for January 20-28, 2024, in Hall 7 booth B19.
