Alpa 9.50 – 9.50 m – A great little classic
The first of the used Classic Boats for sale on our marketplace is an Alpa 9.50 (9.5 x 2.96 m), a small cult of Italian boating. Sleek, streamlined, it is one of those boats that, no matter how “small,” does not go unnoticed, strong in that classic 1970s flavor that is an evergreen. Designed in-house in the late 1970s, it is a must for the shipyard.
It is an Alpa 11.50-great success of the site-in small. Alpa designs it inspired by Sparkman & Stephens’ designs for the 11.50. Born in 1970, it is thus deeply influenced by the design of the late 1960s, with large swells, low freeboard and small sail area. The result is a boat that favors medium-to-strong winds to ensure good sailing performance.
The Alpa 9.50 for sale was launched in 1977 but has been kept up with the times and boasts a new 27hp engine (2021) in soundproofed engine compartment, new electrical system, solar panels and batteries (2022) and, from 2023, also new 135% mainsail and genoa. Not to mention the instrumentation, wind station, and all the accessories that enhance life on board. The boat can be seen in Savona, Liguria.
Comar Phoenix 50 – 15.2 m – A piece of history that looked to the future
Continuing on, we come to the second Classic Boat for sale on our marketplace and find a great Comar classic, a Phoenix 50 (15.2 x 4.40 m), originally designed by Chance and later revisited by the great Vallicelli. It was produced starting in 1990.
It was a forward-looking project that Comar set up with the Phoenix. The lines are already oblivious to the IOR, and the deck seeks innovative solutions, with an elevated deckhouse to increase interior volumes. The result is an extremely comfortable, innovative and still popular boat.
The model for sale, then, boasts of having been the property of a single owner since its launch in 2003. In terms of work, it has always been maintained, and in 2023, it had routine antifouling. Instead, in 2021 it underwent preventive anti-osmosis surgery, as well as saw the purchase of a new mainsail and the replacement of sea intakes. The cherry wood interior is then a treat. The boat can be seen in Marina di Rimini.
Show 38 – 11.48 m – An 80s classic
Designed by the Fontana/Maletto/Navone trio in 1980, a Show 38 (11.48 x 3.83 m) is the third Classic Boat on this list, a great classic of 1980s Italian design.
In design terms, as a boat it was born out of the need to combine a sporty, high-performance hull, according to the IOR regulations of the time, with the features and amenities that make a boat suitable for family cruising. Fontana/Maletto/Navone perform the small miracle, creating a boat of moderate weight and length that is easy to handle and fun in most contexts.
The model we are telling you about was launched in 1983 and can be seen in Sicily, in Capo d’Orlando.
