Five used boats from 6.60 to 11.75 m
Among them are some Classic Boats by Giornale della Vela, destined to gain value over time if well maintained. Some are for enthusiasts, others will take you quietly (and comfortably) on a cruise. We present them in ascending order of length. A safe used car: guarantees the Sailing Newspaper!
Etap 22 – 6.60 m – Unsinkable little gem
The first of the used boats for sale on our market today is a small but complete vessel. We are talking about an Etap 22 (6.60 x 2.40 m).
At the 1974 Paris boat show, it caused a sensation and launched a special way of making boats on the market: unsinkable, with structural counter-molds below and above deck, very solid. The Etap 22, the Belgian shipyard’s first boat, was built from 1974 to 1985 in as many as 1,800 units. Almost all specimens have movable drifts that are raised and lowered with a winch. A carriageable daysailer that can hold up in any weather, allowing even two people (or four a bit sporty) to do spartan cruising.
The model we propose can be seen in Sardinia, Teulada, and it is indeed a “first generation” dating back to 1974. It is sold with new Evinrude 6-horsepower 4-stroke outboard motor and a supplied set of sails. It is equipped with a gas stove and sink.
Alpa 9.50 – Small Large Classic Boat
The second of the used boats we show you today is a Classic Boat by Giornale della Vela, one of the historic boats whose value is bound to grow over time. We are talking about an Alpa 9 .50 (9.50 x 2.96 m).
It is an Alpa 11.50, a great success of the shipyard, in small. Alpa designs it inspired by Sparkman & Stephens’ designs for the 11.50. Born in 1970, it is therefore influenced by 1960s design with large leeway, low freeboard, small sail area. The result is a boat that favors medium-to-strong winds to ensure good sailing performance.
The model for sale, visible in Liguria, Savona, is ready to sail. Between 2020 and 2023, the boat underwent a full refit. The sails are new, from 2023. The boat is equipped with Garmin wind station and navigator plotter, autopilot, Autohelm, refrigerator.

Bavaria 32 Cruiser – 9.99 m – The small cruiser according to Farr & BMW
The third of the boats used in the review is a perfect comfortable cruising vessel. It is a Bavaria 32 Cruiser (9.99 x 3.42 m). A 2010 “signature” boat since it was designed by two big names. Bruce Farr handled the water lines, while BMW Group Designworks USA handled the hull and deck design.
The interior was well livable and spacious due to the extension of the deckhouse. Below deck, the living area is spacious and the two cabins are of equal size. The one dedicated to the owner is the bow one. A good-sized bathroom serves both cabins.
The model under review is from 2010 and can be seen at the Rimini Marina. Various maintenance work has been done over the years and the boat is ready to sail.
Elan 340 – 10.45 m – If you like to sail fast (but comfortable)
Let’s stay in the world of boats with the fourth of the used boats for sale on our classifieds market. An Elan 340 (10.45 x 3.46 m) that is a vessel because the hull length is 9.99 m.
A truly elegant ten-meter yacht, born from the pencil of British designer Rob Humphreys, who succeeded in creating a yacht with a compact but not massive line, modern but not extreme, proportionate and elegant on the water. Comparing it with its predecessor Elan 333, the 340 model has about 60 cm more waterline length, which translates into better performance in medium winds as well as in power sailing.
Given the same displacement and sail area, the design ratios do not change much and define a hull with equally sporty, well-sailed characteristics and high form stability.
Very serviceable in all walking areas, it has a particularly clean layout thanks to the grille on the deckhouse, which made it possible to both conceal all the halyards and to flush the five hatches and two handrails.
The distribution of space follows that of the Elan 333, with some small but significant improvements in the size of the berths and forward cabin now equipped with ample storage. For the furniture, with flush, frameless doors, a light-colored wood such as Aningre was preferred, while a dark wenge was used for the dunnage.
The model under the lens, also on view at the Rimini Marina, is from 2009. It is hyper-accessorized is devoted to cruising-racing: it has an oversized and tapered mast, cast-iron and lead bulb, carbon boom and tangon, various sail clearances.
Najad 390 – 11.75 m – Bluewater in Classic Boat version
We close the review with another Classic Boat by Giornale della Vela, whose value is bound to grow over time. The fifth of the used boats for sale on our marketplace is a Najad 390 (11.75 x 3.50 m).
In the 1980s if you were looking for a boat of the kind now called Blue Water, the Najad was the ultimate, along with the Hallberg Rassy. The Najad 39 is particularly successful, with a Nordic look and a more graceful deckhouse than some of the yard’s other models. The construction and finish are proverbial sturdy. Long-lived boat, in production from 1984 to 1995 (ti Thorwald Karlsson’s design).
The model under review visible in Romagna is from 1984 and is in good condition. In 2020, the engine was replaced. On board there are all the amenities that make this boat a home; there is even a heater.
Are you a skipper? They are looking for you!
There are not only used boats on our marketplace! Also find job openings, such as the one we relaunch below.
They are urgently seeking a full-time captain for a state-of-the-art 65-foot cruiser/racer. The owner is Italian, and the boat will sail in the Mediterranean. Knowledge of English is welcome but not essential.
