Show 38 – 11.48 m – Number one!
The first of the used Classic Boats for sale on our marketplace is a Show 38 (11.48 x 3.83 m). A great classic of Italian boating, a 1980 design by the Fontana / Maletto / Navone trio for the Barberis shipyard.
The boat was born from the need to combine a sporty, high-performance hull according to the IOR regulations of the time with the features and amenities that make a boat suitable for family cruising. Fontana/Maletto/Navone perform the small miracle, creating a boat of moderate weight and length that is easy to handle and fun in most contexts.
The model we propose is truly special. It is number 1 in the series, presented at the 1980 Genoa Boat Show. It has three double cabins, two bathrooms, sinks in each room. The motorization is Vetus, well serviced. The boat can be seen in Porto Maurizio (Imperia)
USED BOATS. X-412 – 12.90 m – The performance cruiser according to Jeppesen
We continue with the second of the used Classic Boats. A true thoroughbred, namely an X-412 (12.90 x 3.91 m), designed by Niels Jeppesen in 1990.
It is the first model in X-Yachts’ Performance Cruiser segment. Totally lost the IOR influence, it was designed to better respond to the new IMS handicaps. Immediate success, what we would call a ‘trendsetter’ today. Produced in 252 examples in about 10 years, it set the standard for many boats to come.
The 1996 model for sale is very distinctive in its black livery. The engine was replaced in 2018 and a lot of refit work was done. The boat can be seen at the LNI in Trapani, Sicily.
USED BOATS. Sun Odyssey 51 – 15.49 m – Bruce Farr. The name is enough
We close our “trio” of used Classic Boats with the largest of the models under review. A Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 51 (15.49 x 4.88 m).
At the 1988 Paris Boat Show, it stunned visitors because of the double rudders in the cockpit, until then the prerogative of sport boats. There is the hand of crest-of-the-wave designer Bruce Farr (with the collaboration of Slovenians J&J), who has come up with an innovative cruiser that is fast, easy to handle, and has beautiful lines. It went down a storm, setting the new standard for cruisers.
The model we offer, in excellent condition (90 hp Lombardini engine replaced in 2006) and equipped with up-to-date deck equipment and electronics, is from 1991. It has two refrigerators, five cabins and five bathrooms: ready to sail. It is visible in Fiumicino (Rome).
