enters the orbit of the French group
Wichard
, which acquires 100 percent of the Australian company active in various fields, from deck equipment to racing apparel. Groupe Wichard thus expands its portfolio, which already includes several other deck equipment manufacturer brands such as Facnor, Sparcraft and Lorima.
Wichard acquires deck equipment brand Ronstan
Born in Braeside, Victoria, in 1953 from the minds of Ron Allatt and Stan Lenepveu (the crasis of their names gave rise to the company name) Ronstan recently launched itself into the world of winches with the Orbit unveiled in the summer. An aluminum product developed from the experience of Danish Andersen winches, a brand in turn acquired by Ronstan in 2005, with features that make them much lighter than winches in the same range. Ronstan’s entry strengthens Wichard ‘s position in the deck accessories segment, expanding its catalog with all of its products, including blocks, winches, furlers (the winches) and all apparel dedicated to racers and boaters. The integration in addition to expanding Wichard’s product range will help pool engineering expertise and manufacturing capabilities while strengthening their respective global sales and distribution networks.
Thanks to this latest acquisition of, Groupe Wichard reaches 550 employees worldwide, with total sales exceeding 100 million euros. The management of Ronstan International Pty Ltd will have the same current arrangement and will in turn retain control over all other Ronstan Group companies.
