There are boats that are worth more than others and will be worth even more over time: these are the

of Sailing
, fiberglass and mass-produced boats built since 1967 and with a minimum of 25 years on their backs(here is the Classic Boat poster by Giornale della Vela). We have identified 175 HERE (with boat sheet, measurements, year of design, market quotations) but the list is constantly being updated.

These are important boats in the history of sailing, selected on the basis of very specific canons that transcend the age of the artifact and focus on its intrinsic historical value, starting with the overall design qualities and originality of the boat in its context.

Classic Boats by Giornale della Vela- 5 boats from 8.6 to 9.14 m

How to dignify Classic Boats by Giornale della Vela and increase their value? We decided to put a practical spin on the issue. So, on the back of the automotive world, we created a network of professionals dedicated precisely to this enhancement. A network of partners who have decided to espouse the project
Classic Boat by Journal

of Sailing.
Thus, certified appraisals (taking into account maintenance and preservation), dedicated insurance policies (taking into account historical value) and certified brokers are available to buy and sell. Our “dream team” of appraisers, insurers and brokers can be contacted with a click directly from the boat tabs.

That said, we have analyzed and reviewed all the boats, including those from the last update, now complete with current average value and prospectuses on potential increased value. So here are 5 new entries in this initiative, 5 “new” Classic Boats by Giornale della Vela from 8.6 to 9.14 meters.

HALLBERG P-28

Hallberg Rassy; 8.61 x 2.36 m; 1955 / 1967; Harry Hallberg

It is a case as peculiar as it is interesting. Born in wood in 1955, designed and manufactured by Harry Hallberg. A pioneer of the fiberglass series, he converted its design and production in ’67, giving birth to the GRP series. Fast and durable, it is a cult boat of Scandinavian shipbuilding. As many as 539 were built.

Classic Boats. FIRST 30

Beneteau; 8.95 x 2.86 m; 1976; André Mauric

This is the first time Beneteau has used a designer from outside the shipyard, and with André Mauric, it hits the jackpot. Inspired by the Half Ton Cup-winningImpensable, the duo created the First 30, the first ever First, a total success that earned them a Boat of the Year award and nearly 1,000 hulls produced. Thus was born Beneteau’s First series.

COMET 333

Comar; 9.13 x 3.15 m; 1988; Andrea Vallicelli

In 1988 the Vallicelli studio, a great collaborator of Comar, signed for the Italian shipyard a small three quarter tonner, the Comet 333. It is a hull that can run despite its small cruiser décor, so much so that an adapted version would later be chosen for the first edition of the 1989 Giro d’Italia Sailing Tour.

Classic Boats. FIGARO SOLO

Beneteau; 9.14 x 3.25 m; 1990; Groupe Finot & Jean Berret

Developed for the Solitaire du Figaro regatta, it was liked from the start, thus starting a series that is still more than active today. From its earliest version it was characterized by a powerful sail on fractional rigging with flying rigging, resulting in a fast hull, strong synthetic foam sandwich with structural counter-molding and efficient weight distribution.

J/92

J/Boats; 9.14 x 3.05 m; 1992; Johnstone

Simple, fast and fun. This is the short formula for the J/92, the small 30-footer from J/Boats sold in more than 180 examples. It’s a recipe as old as it is functional: design a boat for everyone, make it aesthetically pleasing, make sure it’s fast, sell it. It worked.
