Italia Yachts is a shipyard that has specialized since its origins in building boats dedicated to sport cruising. Racing is also in the shipyard’s DNA, and the 998 and 11.98 in particular have been very successful boats for the ORC racing world as well. The Italia Yachts 12.98, designed by Studio Cossutti, is one of the latest models to come out on the market, dedicated to the world of sport cruisers, and offered in Fuoriserie (for those who also enjoy racing) and Bellissima (for those who want a more finished boat inside) versions.
We went to Tuscany, to Marina Cala de Medici at Marina Service, to try it out, on a day that turned out to be perfect from a sailing point of view. From the initial light wind, the Tuscan thermal breeze settled down to just over 10 knots, giving us perfect conditions for the 12.98 trial.

Italia Yachts 12.98 – Bellissima or Fuoriserie?
Combining the will of a boat with sporting ambitions (Fuoriserie version), while still making it usable for cruising (Bellissima version) and with a stylish and trendy interior design, as known, is one of the most difficult exercises in the nautical world, but the shipyard in its history has already proven that it knows how to overcome similar challenges, having made the authentic compromise between the two worlds its winning weapon and the philosophy of the shipyard. The choice of the two versions Bellissima and Fuorisere, different in sail plan, number and positioning of winches on the deck, as well as in the interior, is the key with which the shipyard interprets the compromise between the world of racing and that of luxury cruising.
