The Italian
Quick
launched at recent boat shows a new anchor. Created to have greater penetrative capacity and better weight distribution, the Olympic anchor is in the process of patenting an innovative self-hoisting system. The first two models in the range, 16 and 20 kg, are suitable for boats up to 13 meters in length.
Silohuette “smart”
In their offices in Piangipane (Ravenna), Quick’s engineers have designed an innovative form for the anchor Olympic. Looking at the earliest specimens, suitable for boats with a displacement between 6 and 10 tons, one notices a center of gravity shifted far toward the extremity, with more lead and weight insisting on the front of the fluke. Thus the anchor is able to penetrate the seabed more forcefully, ensuring a better anchorage, and is easier to bring back on board when hauling.
The spindle area was made extremely compact, reducing weight to a minimum and using stamped plates for production. The small fins keep the anchor perpendicular to the bottom, making it easier to anchor. The self-balancing system consisting of the eyelet and duplex joint is currently under patent. In fact, this solution allows the Olympic to tip over and always assume a correct position when being hauled, fitting perfectly with any snout.
You can see the Olympic anchor on the Nimbus T11, Quick’s“floating showroom” featured at boat shows with the best of the Italian brand’s accessories on board.
