Have you ever tried to get on a modern catamaran? The spaces are those of a real house, with lots of furnishings and extra-large appliances so it feels, in terms of comfort, like being on a seaside villa. On the deck then, both fore and aft, open-air space is not lacking. With Lagoon 60, however, even more was intended. As renderings of the new model, which is expected to be launched in February 2024, reveal, the stern of Lagoon 60 has fold-down murals, thanks to which it is possible to create a real terrace overlooking the sea.
Lagoon 60: the catamaran with retractable bulwarks for an XXL experience
Since 1984, Lagoon has delivered nearly 7,000 yachts worldwide. Growth, especially in recent years, certainly driven by the charter market but also by the desire of many boat owners to enjoy the sea on a comfortable and spacious vessel. Today the Lagoon catamaran range expands with a new model, the Lagoon 60, renderings of which have just been unveiled at the Cannes Boat Show. Seeing it in the water will have to wait until February 2024, when the first specimen is scheduled to be launched, while the world premiere presentation will be during the exclusive Lagoon Days in Bordeaux in March 2024. Following this, Lagoon 60 will be exhibited at the Palma de Mallorca Boat Show, April 25-28, 2024, from which it will then depart for the Summer Tour that will touch major Mediterranean locations with open days open to the public.
Lagoon’s new 60 sailboat fits in between the 55 and the Sixty5, complementing the range in that luxury segment where the shipyard is increasingly making its mark on the market. The real innovation for the Lagoon range, are the fold-down aft murals, which open to the sea, expanding the aft living area. The idea is to create a true terrace overlooking the sea.
The exterior of Lagoon 60
Lagoon 60 is a catamaran that is characterized by having solutions that make life on board extremely comfortable, such as the possibility of moving to the bow sofas by transiting from the dinette. The fly, as with all Lagoons, is the command area with all maneuvers at your fingertips, but more importantly, it is the place to enjoy privacy and relaxation thanks to the large lounge and sundecks.
Great attention has been given to on-board comfort on the new Lagoon 60. The deck is on a single, uninterrupted level from the aft cockpit to the forward cockpit. Additional access to the salon from the forward cockpit connects indoor and outdoor living spaces, allowing for easy and smooth movement on board.
The aft decks open up, facilitating access aboard and increasing living space at anchor. The aft cockpit is accessed from the small beach via new, wider corner steps. The fly, as with all Lagoons, is the command area with all maneuvers at your fingertips, but more importantly, it is the place to enjoy privacy and relaxation thanks to the large lounge and sundecks.
Lagoon 60’s water lines were designed by French firm Van Peteghem-Lauriot Prévost (VPLP) while the design was entrusted to Patrick Le Quément, for the exterior, and Nauta design, for the interior.
Two interior configurations
Lagoon 60’s interior is spacious and bright. Two configurations are provided, 4- or 5-cabin depending on whether the galley is located in the salon or below deck. The master cabin is located in the maximum beam of the starboard hull, while there are two VIP cabins and crew cabins in the bow of each hull.
By choosing to put the kitchen in the living room, you gain not only an additional cabin but also another bathroom.
