At the Cannes Boat Show Dufour Yachts is not only showing its new Dufour 41, but has announced a new model. The Dufour 44 (13.91 x 4.45 m), which will presumably soon replace the Dufour 430. A boat that offers many customization options in terms of interior layouts and fittings with an all-Italian heart.
What the New Dufour 44 will look like
What boat will I be this midsize cruising boat? Certainly the “family feeling” with the 41-which is also designed by Italian studio Felci Yachts-is evident in the shapes.

Dufour 44 – Blanket
The hull of the Dufour 44, despite its large volumes, maintains an all in all “sleek” line. Contributing to this is the solution, already seen on the 41, of large broadside windows, which lighten the weight and increase the brightness of the interior. Also important are the semi-warp edges that characterize the emerged lines just above the waterline and the one that starts at the bow flare and runs along the hull at the top of the freeboard.
At the bow is space for the dolphin locker that houses the anchor nose (with vertical bows this is now a must), useful for advancing the tacking point of the forestay of the self-tacking jib and the eventual mainsail breaker for asymmetrical sails.
the deckhouse is “long” and ends at the bow of the mast, with a wide deck. The cockpit, in which maneuvering is deferred, houses the folding table, ergonomic benches and double wheelhouse equipped with control stations: as standard, the instrumentation will be provided by B&G, an electronic partner of Dufour Yachts.
With a view to reducing hydrodynamic drag and favoring sensitivity, the design team opted for a single rudder blade.
In addition to the now traditional fold-down swim platform, the cockpit in fact a continuous bench facing the transom, a solution that not only provides ample seating space but also safety.

Interior
We come to the interior, which is spacious (thanks to the hull’s shapes and generous beam) and is sure to be bright given the side windows and in the forward and side parts of the deckhouse. The design has once again been entrusted to Luca Ardizio Design’s Lombard studio Ardizio: different configurations of spaces are available, but one thing does not change and that is the large dinette, with distinctive shapes.
Once below deck, on the starboard side is the galley, which is a hybrid of the broadside and “C” solution, divided by a central body where the refrigerator and-we presume-food and dish spaces will be located. There is also the option of having it in the “frontal galley” solution, that is, with the sink on the port side and the burners on the starboard side, freeing up space for a starboard sofa in the dinette.
At left is a curious hexagonal table, a solution made possible by the hull’s wide beam.
We come to the available layouts. We have already told you about the “front” or “side” galley: you can also choose the three-cabin solution, with the large master stateroom in the bow with a dedicated bathroom and shower stall and two doubles in the stern (also with bathrooms), or the four-cabin, four-bath solution.
In this case there are two doubles forward served by their own bathroom: this configuration winks at the charter world.

Dufour 44 – Price and options
We come to the price of the boat. The basic version of the new Dufour 44 (with three-cabin layout and front galley) and the must-have comfort pack (which includes lazy bag, rigid vang, cockpit shower, cockpit table, electric windlass, water heater, etc.) starts at 290,000 excluding tax (275,000 + 15,000 mandatory comfort pack).
There are then different fittings depending on the owners’ needs: the “Adventure” version, with Fusion sound system in the cockpit and dinette, gas barbecue and sink in the cockpit, induction chargers, cockpit cooking costs 12,000 euros more. The “Ocean” one has4 T50 winches, jib rails, provision for asymmetrical, genoa instead of self-tacking jib, etc…) is priced at 8,000 euros.Several “packages” for B&G electronics are also available, with the Sailing Pack, Cruising Pack and Regatta Pack.
Anyway, we leave you HERE the list with all available options and their prices.
