Danish shipyard X-Yachts begins the new chapter in its history and does so by returning to its roots, to sport boats. After consolidating its position in the cruiser world in recent years with the Pure X line and the new XC 47 for blue water sailing, X returns to the world of racing. The boat will be called XR and was given a preview during the last ORC World Championship in Kiel, Germany, among the yard’s target markets.
X-Yachts presents XR, what boat will it be?
Racing is an integral part of the X-Yachts DNA and the shipyard has a long history starting from its inception with the first model the X-79 that won regattas around the world.
After many years and many winning boats, X-Yachts is now ready to launch the next winning boat. The project is still in its infancy, but the goal is a racer for ORCi Class B, and it will not be a One Design.
The length of the hull will be between 42 and 44 feet. For the creation of the new XR X-Yachts will bring to bear all the expertise gained from previous models and will draw on leading figures in the racing world such as Bouwe Bekking, Jesper Radich, North Sails, C-Performance and Max Gürgel, with the goal of creating the fastest racing boat in its class. The new XR is scheduled to be launched in early 2025
