Today we have scouted for you five used trailerable boats for all tastes from 4.34 to 7.90 m, perfect for taking them wherever you want and having fun, alone or with your family.
Five used trailerable boats from 4.34 to 7.90 m
Whether they are mini cruisers, sportboats, dinghies or catamarans, to be carried on the roof of your car or with a small trailer, you will not be disappointed. We present them in ascending order of length. A safe used car: guarantees the Sailing Newspaper!
RS500 – 4.34 m – Acrobatic drift, yes, but easy and fun!
We begin with the first of the used trailerable boats on our marketplace. RS Sailing is the largest manufacturer of dinghies in the world, and about the quality of its hulls you can rest assured. TheRS500 (4.34 x 1.58 m) is a double dinghy with trapeze and gennaker that is fast, maneuverable and fun.
The RS500 offers “skiff” performance (i.e., acrobatic dinghies) but is easier to steer: it is suitable for young people and adults and offers a full schedule of regattas. Carrying it with you, either on the roof of your car or in a trolley, is so easy.
The model for sale is emblazoned, indeed more than emblazoned. In fact, it is the boat that won the 2017 Junior World Championship, very fast, always ranked high at all national and international regattas.
In very good condition, from 2017, it is soldwith a hauling trolley and a set of sails (mainsail, jib, gennaker).
Used boats. Mattia S – 5.48m – The beach cat that will keep you entertained!
The second of the used trailerable boats for sale on our marketplace is another fun drift, but its two hulls. We are talking about a Mattia S (5.48 x 2.29 m), which Enrico Contreas (at the helm of the Mattia&Cecco shipyard, which produced catamarans at the time) designed in 1978 and which was an immediate success.
The Federvela recognized it as an international class. Easy to transport and disassemble (the mast is divisible into two pieces), it is a fast, high-performance beach catamaran perfect for gliding and enjoying the sea (or lakes) in close contact with the water.
And then if you want to try your hand at some racing against other Mattia S on a level playing field, the class has a fair calendar of events dedicated to enthusiasts.
The model we offer, which can be seen in Marina di Ragusa, is from 1990 but is in good condition, working and complete with everything: rudders, derails, a set of jib and mainsail sails, a spinnaker with tangon, metal hauling cart with solid rubber wheels.
Elan 19 – 5.80 m – Perfect as a first boat!
We continue with the third of the used boats on display in our classifieds market. It is a “mignon” gem from the 1980s, perfect as a first boat: an Elan 19 (5.80 x 2.49 m), a small cruiser designed in 1985 by the Slovenian firm J&J (and remained in production until 1991).
This is a versatile boat, easily trolleyed since it has a movable centreboard and external hanging rudder, as well as a collapsible mast. The construction is solid and safety is ensured by a very low center of gravity. Armed at 7/8, the ratio of sail area (23 sq m) to displacement (650 kg) denotes good performance. Maneuvers are simple and essential, the cockpit is functional while below deck the interior can accommodate four people.
The model under review is from 1989, currently dry but in good condition and for sale at a more than mouth-watering price…
Used boats. First 21.7 – 6.40 m – Minialtura perfect
The fourth of the used trailerable boats we offer is perfect for those who like to have fun. We are talking about a Beneteau First 21.7 (6.40 x 2.48 m), a true “mini-altura” trailerable that remained in production from 2005 to 2011. You’ll have some great rides aboard this little Finot-sized gem, with a sail area of more than 25 sq. m. for a displacement of 1,245 kg when empty and a movable centreboard.
The monolithically designed hull is made of layered polyester. A structural counter-mold made of unidirectional materials is glued and layered to the hull.
Its structural role is important because it allows all the stresses and pressure points (tie-rods moorings shrouds, keel, rudder…) to be taken up, ensuring their distribution and providing less stress to the hull. The surface condition of the counter mold facilitates cleaning and gives a better finish. Flotation foams are distributed throughout the hull structure.
Below deck, there is space for two berths in the saloon, a small galley and chemical toilet, and the double forward cabin with double bed with 1.90 m x 1.40 m mattress.
The model we offer, visible in Mentana (Rome) is from 2005 and is in excellent condition.
Phuket Sports 8 – 7.90 m – “kissing” sportboat
We continue with a sportboat par excellence. The fifth and last of the used trailerable boats for sale in our classifieds market is a Phuket Sports 8 (7.90 x 3.37 m) made by Thai shipyard Latitude 8 Yachting.
A so-called “Free Class” perfect for gliding and racing fun, especially on lakes such as Como (where the boat is located) or Garda, where it is a riot of similar boats (see the Centomiglia). The cockpit is extra wide, the deckhouse moved as far forward as possible.
The high-performance model weighs 950 kg (+ 300 of the lead bulb) and is built using strip planking technique with Lebanon red cedar core and carbon rigging and appendages. The boat is easily trailerable thanks to the retractable centreboard and folding terraces.
The model, visible in Lecco, is from 2004 and is in good condition since it has been used on a few occasions.
