When one thinks of what a watch means today, words like accessory, collectible, style come to mind. In reality, however, the primary function of the watch-or timepiece-is precisely to show us the passage of time through the mechanism and its hands. Measuring the weather has become a necessity for everyone for centuries now, but it has always been a key issue for those in the middle of the sea or in delicate situations such as military campaigns.
Diver – The watches for diving
Bezel diver watches, engineered for divers and to withstand deep dives, are among the most popular models among divers today, but perhaps not everyone knows the deep connection between them and the sea. Today’s divers are in all likelihood equipped with electronic instruments, sometimes more powerful than a computer, capable of giving a multitude of data that is difficult to compare with time measurement alone. It must be said, however, that an analog backup, and a very high quality one at that, is still appreciated by many.
Hamilton Frogman – From the Military World
There is a Swiss-American house that over the years has produced some iconic watches specifically for those who have made diving not only their job, but their lifestyle. On the wrists of the frogmen-the U.S. Navy’s special diving corps during World War II-were in fact Hamilton Frogmans. The brand relaunched this historic model for military use a few years ago, now revised with a modern design and refined materials, making it perfect for both diving and everyday wear. There are four possible configurations, three with a corrugated rubber strap and one with a steel strap, the case has a generous but curvy size, and good wearability. In addition to the Khaki Navy Frogman model, the Lancaster-based house also recently revised the design of the Khaki Navy Scuba with a new green dial that is directly inspired by the view of the seabed. This coloring matches perfectly with the steel strap, but especially with the NATO strap in military green coloring, a must for enthusiasts. Both models are perfect for wearing on the wrist this summer. By boat, underwater and on land!
Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba 37 mm
Swiss quartz movement and sea green fabric NATO strap characterize the 37 mm version of the Khaki Navy Scuba. The watch is waterproof and perfect for diving to 100 meters, with the option to take advantage of the precise stopwatch.
Hamilton Khaki Navy Frogman Automatic Black 41 mm
A great classic of the military world revised and modernized. The elegant black rubber strap echoes the black color of the dial, giving the watch a distinct elegance. The case is 41 mm steel with a screw-down crown.
Hamilton Khaki Navy Frogman Automatic Steel 41 mm
This watch was worn during missions by the U.S. Navy in World War II. Its water resistance to 300 meters makes it perfect for diving, but the steel bracelet also allows it to be paired with an evening gown.
Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba 43 mm
This timepiece that combines aesthetics and functionality is powered by a precise H-10 automatic movement with a Nivachron balance spring and 80 hours of power reserve. The case and strap are both made of steel, and water resistance is 300 meters.
Hamilton Khaki Navy Frogman Automatic Black/Khaki 41mm
Black wavy rubber strap and khaki dial allow this watch to be worn both at sea and on land with elegance. Anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the nickel dial and hour spheres with Super LumiNova.
Hamilton Khaki Navy Frogman Automatic 41 mm
In this coloring, the Khaky Navy Frogman echoes in every way the iconic design of the timepiece used by the legendary U.S. divers. It has a power reserve of 80 hours and is resistant to shocks, temperature changes and magnetic fields.
