Who has never unwrapped a packet with Carlo Parola ‘s iconic backhand hoping to find little pictures of their football favorites? With its sticker stickers, from its headquarters in Modena born more than 60 years ago, Panini allows young and old to dream and live with passion the world of soccer, but also basketball, rugby, motors and now also … sailing!
The 10th Vendée Globe immortalized forever by Panini
The very first, and historic, collection of figurines dedicated to sailing will have as its subject the Vendée Globe, a race that involves a solo round-the-world race starting and finishing in Les Sables-d’Olonne. As announced by the competition management, the next edition (number ten) starting in November 2024 will be immortalized forever and also distributed on the iconic sticker cards of the Modena-based publisher. The collection will be launched in September 2024 and will contain various insights summarized in the approximately 200 stickers to be pasted on the dedicated album.
What you will be able to find in the packages
The card album for the tenth edition of the Vendée Globe will present the regatta, with nods to past editions and its history, the route, with focus on aspects such as the conditions of the skippers on board, the seas sailed, the unexpected and the environments visited. The main protagonists, however, will be, of course, the skippers and their boats, who for the first time in history will be able to see their little photos exchanged among fans, like “colleagues” Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi.
Announcement of the launch took place only in France for now; it is unclear at the moment whether the collection will be marketed by Panini in our country as well. The fact remains that this is, in any case, a historic turning point for the sport of sailing.
