C-Cat 65 (19 m), Italy’s two-hulled megayacht arrives

The Italian brand C-Catamarans, heir to the Comar shipyard, we have often covered recently because it is going through a particularly prolific production phase with several new models on the launch pad. We tested the C-Cat 48 by verifying at sea the philosophy of these catamarans, which have a conception of on-board comfort that does not penalize sailing performance, thanks in part to weight-conscious construction.

The new C-Catamarans model on the launch pad will be the flagship of the range, the C-Cat 65, a project that will propel the shipyard into the world of maxi yachts.

Design and Construction

The design of the C-Cat 65 is the result of a multi-handed work, entrusted to Enrico Contreas who, with Luigi Cirillo put his signature on this catamaran, in a work where Marco Amadio and Marco Rogolino also collaborated.

Even from the first circulated drawings, the catamaran shows a certain identity: sharp, inverted bows, adjustable drifts, a low, tapered living cell, and a net at the bow, the search for lightness, a low center of gravity, and aerodynamic shapes is immediately apparent. Features that herald interesting performance.

The C-Cat 65 has one of its secrets in its construction, thanks to the infusion carbon construction for bulkheads, hull and deck, which is ideal for the strength and structural rigidity requirements that such a boat must have. It means being able to reduce the time of crossings from one destination to another while cruising, often keeping the engine off, or benefiting from the lightness of the catamaran even when sailing with propulsion.

C-Cat 65 – The Interior

Interior under the banner of open spaces and brightness thanks to the glazed deckhouse. The square will connect with the large cockpit to create a large open space. The glazing separating or die rooms is created concealed.

The interiors are designed to cater to an audience that may come from different worlds, both sailing and motor, as C-Catamarans are also in this second version. Different solutions from 3 to 4+1 cabins are offered with elegant and sophisticated fittings, which can also be customized.
