Five used boats from 8.75 to 9.99 m

These are five used boats perfect for both getting started and for family fun and cruising. With a few of them you might get some good satisfaction in regattas as well. We present them in ascending order of length. A safe used car: guarantees the Sailing Newspaper!

Dehler 29 – 8.75 m – For 25 years on the crest of the wave

The first of the used boats we show you is based on German quality, space rationalization, good sailing performance. These are probably the secrets of the longevity of the Dehler 29 (8.75 x 2.99 m), which, designed back in 1997 by Judel and Vrolijk, is still on the market, albeit with several updates that arrived in 2012 with MKII version (such as the variation of the deckhouse windows, over time adapted to maximize interior brightness).

The hull has thin bow profiles and a rather long waterline. Features that, combined with the fractional rig and a respectable sail area (51 sq. m. upwind) make the boat fast, cruising and racing. The cockpit is not XXL in size, with the tiller rudder and mainsail track running halfway across it, while the transom can be opened.
Below deck is space for an aft cabin, the saloon with center table and side sofas (divided from the forward cabin by a curtain), a toilet, and the galley.

The model under the lens, visible in Croatia and from 2013, is powered by Volvo Penta 19 horsepower and is equipped with every convenience. Even of the bow thruster, a rarity on boats of this size.

USED BOATS. Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 32.2 – 9.35 m – A small bestseller

We continue with the second of the used boats for sale on our marketplace, a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 32.2 (9.35 x 3.00 m).

Production of the Sun Odyssey 32.2 began in 1997, and until 2005 nearly 400 units were sold. The project is by Jaques Fauroux who designed a pleasant family cruising boat. The aesthetics are pleasing with a modern deckhouse well connected to the cockpit.

The deck has a nice cockpit with standard wheel steering, somewhat limited passage from bow to stern due to the width of the deckhouse. Comfortable stern with swim platform and swim ladder. Inside excellent habitability with 1.80 m cabin height. At the foot of the descent on the left is the kitchen and on the starboard side is the chartroom. In the middle of the boat is a dinette with opposing sofas. Forward and aft are two cabins with double berths. The bathroom is to the right of the aft cabin. Sail performance is honest, especially from medium wind up.

The 1998 model for sale is in excellent condition, maintained and serviced regularly. Equipped with every convenience, it is powered by Yanmar diesel, 20 hp.

Dufour 32 Classic – 9.96 m – Compact, yet ultra-comfortable

The third of the used boats for sale on our marketplace is another vessel, a Dufour 32 Classic (9.96 x 3.30 m). French shipyard Dufour’s Classic range, of which this 32-footer (in production from 1996 to 2005) is among the smallest models, consists of pure cruising hulls designed by the Jakopin brothers’ J & J studio.

Hull of traditional lines, with fairly pronounced deckhouse that allows in the interior discrete heights up to the bow, has masthead rigging without steering wheels. The transom has an integrated step and ladder. The interior includes two double cabins, aft and forward, a bathroom to the right of the access ladder, and a large saloon. The central dinette has a table with folding doors, while the L-shaped kitchen is of fair size.

The model for sale, dating from 2000, is equipped with Volvo Penta 19 hp engine, depth sounder, Log, GPS, Autopilot, Radar, wind station, battery charger, solar panels, boiler, dinghy, bimini.

Used boats. Vagabond 33 Ketch – 9.97 m – Vintage cruiser

We jump back in time with the fourth of the used boats on our marketplace. We’re talking about a Vagabond 33 (9.97 x 3.20 m) that Mauro Stefini, in the early 1970s, designed with a ketch rig.

A cruising boat created to provide maximum safety and peace of mind while sailing. High freeboard to protect against splashing, a long rudder blade well protected by the skeg, and an “overdrive” to maneuver well even with motor.

If you are looking for performance and a modern boat, stay away from this model, which, however, has managed to gather around it many aficionados of old-fashioned boating. Interesting is the detail of the small deckhouse aft that allows you to have a comfortable second double cabin, which combined with the forward cabin, provides privacy if you are sailing in pairs. Also for the two separate bathrooms. Below deck is space for a generous saloon and kitchen area.

The model for sale is from 1972.

Comet 33 S – 9.99 m – For those who want to have fun sailing

We continue with the last of the used boats in our marketplace. If you like to be comfortable, but also take some satisfaction in racing, the Comet 33 S (9.99 x 3.35 m), a 2002 design by Sergio Lupoli for the Comar shipyard in Fiumicino, might be for you.

Compared to the Comet 33 (also by Lupoli), the S is its sport version from which it differs substantially in lower displacement and greater sail area and aesthetically in its open stern.

The model under review is from 2007 and can be seen in Palau, Sardinia. It is equipped with a Lombardini engine, full electronics, sail games and has undergone care and refitting over the years. It is, in fact, in excellent condition and ready to sail.
