There are not many new products in the 40-foot pure cruising segment (the new Dufour 41 will see the light of day at the end of June): that’s why the Hanse 410, whose rendering we reveal here for the first time, is worth keeping an eye on.
Hanse 410 – The cruiser according to Berret-Racoupeau
The boat, which will replace theHanse 418 (12.40 x 4.17 m), will be unveiled in the summer and once again bears the signature of French studio Berret-Racoupeau, with more than 30 years’ experience in the world of production boats (Beneteau, Fountaine Pajot, but also Amel) the protagonist of the German shipyard’s “new deal” and already the creator of theHanse 510 e 460 (here our test of the boat).
Reverse bow, edges, electric motor
Two project guidelines. Easy handling and good sailing performance. Roughly 12.50 meters long, the new Hanse 410 differs, and not just a little, from its predecessor (designed instead by Judel Vrolijk Studio).
Beginning with the inverted bow (a reverse sloping bow offers less resistance to water impact) with integrated dolphin guard and hull shapes that promise a thin waterline and thus improved performance.
The “edges” run from bow to stern. They will certainly provide better stability when the boat is tilted, while allowing maximum use of interior volumes. Both the sail plan and the hull are designed to make sailing as easy as possible.
The windows are also announced to be different from the 418: they will still be three, but with the central one far more extended and streamlined. On the “old style,” however, the configuration of the deckhouse and paramare running aft.
Less engine, less fuel consumption: a diktat of the latest sailboats. Especially since, even in the absence of wind, the Hanse 410 will be able to sail with zero emissions thanks to a newly developed (optional) electric propulsion system.
The other details revealed are the shape of the bulb and the rudder, which is single-bladed. We will soon know more about the new Hanse 410.
