The VELA Cup is a regatta you enter for fun, with family or friends, without bureaucracy or complications, but it would not be a competition if there were no prizes up for grabs. The great thing is that, at Italy’s most beautiful and entertaining regatta circuit, not only the best sailing performance is rewarded, but also the mere fact of having participated, thanks to valuable raffle prizes. Let’s start with merit awards. Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each homogeneous grouping by length in the categories Cruising Boat (white sails i.e. without gennaker/spi) and
Sport Boat
(with spi/gennaker/code 0) with valuable screen-printed plates. Boats are divided into homogeneous groupings by length, and rankings are made based on who comes first, crossing the finish line, from each grouping and category. For each is awarded the first Classic Boat among boats that are at least 25 years old, regardless of category.

The overall winner in compensated time, identified through a secret formula whereby the best performing boat, regardless of size, is awarded the Leg Winner prize. Finally, the Elegant Boat award is given to the most beautiful and elegant boat in each stage, regardless of the result obtained on the race course.
