From April 21 to 25, the Marina of Porto Rotondo, Costa Smeralda, hosts the Sardinia Boat Show, a unique opportunity to learn about the region’s many nautical realities and the natural beauty of this beautiful area.
Boat shows have always been an excellent showcase for learning about the latest industry innovations, seeing what boat models shipyards churn out, as well as admiring technological gadgets and novel technical solutions. Especially at large events, the visitor also becomes aware of what the air is in the nautical industry, what products are pulling the most, the needs of enthusiasts, in short, in what direction the market and trends are going.
But a boat show can also be a tremendous opportunity to promote an area, boost tourism to a particular stretch of coastline and attract new visitors. This is the case, for example, with the Sardinia Boat Show, the second edition of which is scheduled for April 21-25 in the Marina of Porto Rotondo.
There are 1,600 nautical enterprises in the region
It is an event dedicated to recreational sailors and crews of large yachts, but also to all enthusiasts of the industry, as well as admirers of the treasures of the enchanting Costa Smeralda. Treasures that are not limited only to the natural beauty of that area, but involve the nautical sector in all its aspects, from tourism to technical and shipbuilding.
The region to date has 1,600 companies in the nautical field, and the Gulf of Olbia alone and its entire industrial zone are able to offer nautical services of the highest level for both receptivity and technical assistance, with an important potential for further development especially in the segment of large yachts, which have always been the main users of these coasts.
A stunning location, all to experience
Promoters of the Sardinia Nautical Fair, in addition to the Marina of Porto Rotondo, are Cipnes, or the Consorzio Industriale Provinciale Nord Est Sardegna-Gallura, as well as the Municipality of Olbia and the Department of Tourism, Handicrafts and Trade of the Region of Sardinia. All lined up together for a salon that is still young but aspires in a few years to have an international scope.
Strategic is the Marina di Porto Rotondo location that hosts the event. Protected by a small natural inlet, running from Punta Nuraghe to Punta Volpe, it covers 500 hectares between the gulfs of Cugnana and Marinella with a landmark in the 800-berth marina. It is a perfect tourist port of call for boaters and the spearhead of Sardinian tourism. It is here that some 330 exhibitors including shipyards, accessory and equipment manufacturers, apparel companies, service companies, charter operators and nautical agencies will be welcomed. They are for the most part all local businesses, small companies, artisan worksites, service providers, and that is precisely the strength of this fair, which allows people to get to know these realities in one fell swoop.
Also scheduled are conferences, parades and food trails
The Sardinia Nautical Fair will also be an opportunity to attend conferences that will address various topics: from marina management, to yacht construction, from the phenomenon of the so-called “nautical hotel,” to the new frontiers of eco-sustainability in the sector. There will also be entertainment moments, including gastronomic tastings of Gallura products, fashion shows, music and folk performances.
This month of April is also an ideal time to enjoy the typical colors and scents of Sardinia. The Boat Fair is free admission, so don’t miss it!
