Over 25 years of age, but going no further than 1967 as the year of launching, one enters the realm of the Classic Boats. Mass-produced, daughters of fiberglass and ingenious designers, they are often mythical boats, protagonists of the Golden Age of sailing. But blazoned names, age or construction site are not enough to make them masterpieces. There are many parameters and characteristics that define which boats are born “better” than others. We have thus selected 100 of them, and as we come to the 7th round, we see here 5 memorable Classic Boats from 10.10 to 10.40 meters.

5 Classic Boats from 10.10 to 10.40 meters
Having reached more “important” sizes, having broken through the 10-meter barrier, we now begin to encounter bulkier boats. Moving from ante-litteram cruiser-racer like Van De Stadt‘s DB2 (10.10 m) to hulls designed for pure cruising, such as Briand‘sOceanis 350 (10.31 m), we find, in fact, more versatile boats prone to a variety of uses. Overall, always great successes, milestones in the history of design and engineering.

DB2
Dehler | 10.10 x 3.40 m | 1981 | Van De Stadt
The German shipyard specializes in dual-purpose boats, racing and cruising. The DB2, a Van De Stadt design, is one of the most successful models and has, on its palmares, the 1984 Three Quarter Tonner World Championship win. Iconic is the open stern, one of the earliest examples of this, which is the dominant trend today.

GRAND SOLEIL 34
Pardo Shipyard | 10.18 x 3.44 m | 1972 | Jean Marie Finot
It all started with this 1972 boat. Cantiere del Pardo launches the first Grand Soleil and relies on French genius Jean Marie Finot. Out of the box at the time, short deckhouse and huge stern, it was a huge success, with 300 examples and a production run of 11 years. Cult.

Classic Boats. OCEANIS 350
Beneteau | 10.31 x 3.43 m | 1986 | Philippe Briand
Behind this pure cruising boat, which has become iconic for its unconventional windowed deckhouse design, is a visionary designer, Philippe Briand. A 10-meter with extraordinary production longevity, from 1986 to 1993. Revolutionary design.
Classic Boats. GRAND SOLEIL 343
Cantiere del Pardo | 10.40 x 3.42 m | 1985 | Alain Jèzèquel
Two years passed from the Grand Soleil 39 and, in 1985, its smaller brother, the Grand Soleil 343, was born. Same classic line, equal ability to be fast but also comfortable. One of the earliest examples of a boat of even 11 meters with the highest quality and design.
