5 Classic Boats from 9.40 to 9.95 meters
As the number of items in this series increases, meters and volumes increase proportionately, bringing us closer to the end of the small-large vessels in this list of ours. Moving from the brilliant Bruce Farr to the innovative duo J&J, we meet here brilliant projects, born somewhat by necessary evolution-such as the
Ziggurat 995
by Vallicelli – or purely as racers, such as the legendary
Mumm 30
by Farr, also known as the Farr 30. But regardless of the reasons, these are still small masterpieces, eternal Classic Boats, “great” to this day and milestones for the history of sailing. So let’s see five more Classic Boats, this time, from 9.40 to 9.95 meters.

ELAN 31
Elan Marine | 9.40 x 3.30 m | 1983 | J&J
First success of the Slovenian shipyard and first J&J project also handpicked by Niels Jeppesen (founder of X-Yachts). It is a small miracle. Produced in about 1,000 examples from 1983 to 1989 (from 1987 Elan 33 with modifications) it redefined the concept of the performance-cruiser, ‘comfortable and fast’. The racing version (R) won the award for best production boat at the 1985 Three Quarter Ton Cup.
MUMM 30
Carroll Marine / Ovington | 9.42 x 3.08 m | 1995 | Bruce Farr
This gem of world sailing is named after a Champagne and is also known as the Farr 30. Perfect as a day sailer or for small coastal cruises, it is a true sailing missile, as extreme as a track car and as fascinating as a great contemporary classic.

FARR 31
Artmare | 9.52 x 3.30 m | 1978 | Bruce Farr
It bears the signature of Bruce Farr, designer of “off the charts,” beautiful and fast boats. Even today, this IOR-era Half Tonner class boat can look good in regattas. One of the first boats that glided with relative ease.
KARATE
CNSO | 9.95 x 2.95 m | 1969 | Michel Bigoin & Jacques Duvergie
The icon of the late 1960s cruiser that has the retro charm of a boat designed by a master of the time, Michel Bigoin, with which to sail the way it used to be done, without too many comforts but with plenty of desire for the sea. The design traces that of the legendary “Moitessier style” ocean boats. For experts.
Classic Boats. ZIGGURAT 995
CPR | 9.95 x 3.30 m | 1981 | Andrea Vallicelli
An inflated version to be more habitable of the legendary Ziggurat 916. It retains all the features of the smaller model.
