Dnce monohull sailboats put in the “nose,” or dolphin boat that extends the overall length by at least half a meter, it has become less easy to classify the actual size of a boat. So to analyze the largest market segment, we chose hull length as a reference so that we have a more objective parameter.
We are talking about the princely segment of production sailing hulls, the 11/12-meter segment where we have collected a beauty of twenty-four models. A variety of proposals of the unique proposals and for every need. Do you want the super-comfortable boat? There is! Are you interested in the superfast racing boat? There you have it. There is also the daysailer.
Maxi comparison sailboats 11/12 meters
Below you will find the summary table of the main characteristics (outboard length/floatline length/maximum width/displacement/upwind sail area mainsail + jib/basic price) that makes you immediately understand what kind of boat each model is. Play with the numbers, you will quickly understand the type, regardless of the aesthetic side. A couple of examples. The heavier the boat (displacement), the greater the sail area.
Similarly, a lighter boat with a large sail area will characterize a boat that has better sail performance, even and especially in light winds. To assess theoretical habitability you need only consider hull length and width. If you multiply these two values and remove about 20 percent you will have the theoretical square meters of the boat, which should be multiplied by two (above and below deck). We told you, it is little more than a game that we propose. But it serves to give you a rough idea of the type of boat. As for the prices provided by the yards: they are without VAT, ex-works, excluding optionals.
