The wallywind110

Wally announced these days the official sale of the first wallywind110 whose construction of the first unit in the range has started a few months ago, launching is scheduled for May 2024. The project once again combines naval architecture by Judel/Vrolijk & co with interior and exterior lines signed by the Wally team and the Santa Maria Magnolfi design studio. This collaboration aims to recreate a yacht that displays Wally’s signature characteristics of simplicity and elegance.

Wallywind 110, hybrid soul

The wallywind110 has a hybrid soul, in fact it will have the interior volumes of a classic deckhouse cruising yacht, but will be almost totally flush-deck confirming ambitions toward the performance of a racing boat. The inner square will be raised so as to take advantage of the “eyes” of the deckhouse, that is, the tapered fenestration that runs along the sides. The hull, made entirely of carbon, will be detailed by Wally laminators, who have always been at the forefront of this construction technology. It also features the famous Wally easy-sailing system (simplified sail management), now widely adopted throughout the industry.

Wallywind 110, when shipowners return

The future owner of this boat is a loyal Wally customer, a real source of pride for brand founder Luca Bassani: “Wally’s owners are like family to us and it makes me extremely proud to know that they continue to choose us to build their dreams on the water. From the very beginning we have been able to listen to their wishes and turn them into unique features of their yachts, always managing to exceed even their expectations thanks to Wally’s experience and know-how.” told Luca Bassani, Wally Founder and Chief Designer.

in addition to the hull, in fact, the high-performance rig is also made entirely of carbon, and there is a choice of three types of keel: a 4.5-m fixed keel, a 3.95-6.10-m telescopic keel, and a 4.50-6.80-m hi-tech lifting keel. Indeed, not surprisingly, the ballast-to-weight ratio of 40 percent.

Other key technical innovations include: the use of lightweight lithium-ion batteries and auxiliary equipment, multiple high-pressure hydraulic pumps, and double tiller. The wallywind110 is also equipped with the Wally underwater anchor and hydraulic system with Magic Trims for adjusting mainsail and jib sheets.

Wallywind 110 – Exterior

The purest lines embrace large spaces dedicated to social and guest life, starting with the huge 80-square-meter cockpit, twice the size of those found on boats of this length, which is on a single level and extends across the beam to the tall, secure bulwark that replaces the classic bulwark. The layout is fully customizable and offers seating for 15 people. The only fixed elements are the twin carbon wheels of the rudders and the entry drum for the crew.

One of the most interesting aspects of the deck layout is the removable furniture, inspired by the golden age of large sailboats. Each seat, lounger, deck chair and table can, in fact, be removed to prepare the wallywind110 for competition. An additional design element in pure Wally style is the deep, sheltered aft “sea terrace.”

A huge compartment hidden under the deck can accommodate a tender up to 4 meters long. In this way, the transom remains free and available to guests, who can comfortably bathe while also taking advantage of a hydraulic ladder that then retracts back into the hull.

Wallywind 110 – Interior

The customization continues below deck: thanks to the engine room located below the salon, guests have a large, refined open space for conversation, dining, and work. A skylight runs longitudinally across the entire low deckhouse, making natural light, which also enters copiously from the portholes and windows, the star of this bright, cool area.

The large forward master stateroom of the Wallywind 110 provides several layouts, including one with a walk-in closet, one with separate his and her bathrooms, or one with relaxation seating. Three more guest suites are provided on board, plus two cabins for the crew and one reserved for the captain.

In terms of finishes and furnishings, Wally offers a sporty bleached wood interior with carbon details, but the final decision is up to the owner who can customize them to his or her liking.
