How to arm the storm-bag tormentor is the topic of the new video-episode of SAIL School. We had already seen in case of a storm or strong wind that prevents us from continuing sailing, how to put on the cape. Today’s video, illustrates the storm bag tourmaline, a particular type of tourmaline designed for cruising to be wrapped around the rolled jib.
The tormentor storm bag in the gale
When even partially rolling the jib fails to upwind, it is necessary to arm the tormetine. By now on modern sailboats, the forestay no longer exists because there are turrets that can be wrapped around the jib.
One of the most modern and easy-to-use solutions is the one we see illustrated in the video, which explains just how to rig the storm-bag turret quickly and safely without having to lower the jib, and without going crazy with the garrots.
The storm bag tormentor is a sturdy sail made of dacron, has a very high tack and sheet point that allows it not to be filled by waves, and is packed in a pocket bag, ready to be rigged.
The tormentina storm bag is distributed in Italy by FBYachting
