Ewol has designed an innovative propeller that can turn into a hydrogenerator to recharge the boat’s on-board batteries. EnergyMatic was presented at the recent boat shows in Cannes and Genoa, and
within the Milan Yachting Week
. Here are its main features.
Elica EnergyMatic Ewol
This new product from Ewol was created for sailboats equipped with electric motors, those of today but especially those of tomorrow. Indeed, one of the challenges facing electric motors remains that of batteries, particularly the issue related to their durability and recharging. Thanks to the charging position to which the propeller can be set, EnergyMatic transforms into a hydrogenerator that can recharge the batteries of boats with electric or hybrid propulsion, but also with an alternator connected to the axle. When sailing with the propeller in the charging position, the propeller functions as an electric turbine that generates power. recharging the batteries.

Another key feature of EnergyMatic is the automatic return. This mechanism allows the propeller to position itself at the flag without the need to stop the shaft, so there is no need to turn off the engine and engage reverse gear. This propeller positions itself with minimal resistance and allows you to increase sailing speed by as much as 1.5 knots.
