He explodes the rocket in his hand and dies. Withdrawn lot L-35
Lecea, which manufactures Pirolec Red Rocket Parachute Flare L-35, is recalling all devices marked with lot number 113.
The announcement comes as a result of investigations conducted by the Dutch judiciary after a 23-year-old Dutch sailor died from the explosion of the parachute rocket, launched on New Year’s Eve 2023. Unfortunately, the crew’s attempts to revive the boy were in vain.
“The experienced seaman fired the rocket, according to instructions, but instead of taking off, the rocket exploded immediately, with fatal consequences,” the Dutch Safety Council said in the memo.
All Pirolec Red Rocket Parachute Flare L-35/L35A rockets , in lot 0525/2021 – 113 are to be withdrawn because they are explosive .
We specify that this type of SOLAS rocket, was produced in Spain, and is sold throughout Spain and the Canary Islands, but not distributed in Italy. Consider, however, that it may be aboard a charter boat, as it is still valid.
