Verga-Plast, the Lomazzo-based boatyard that has been producing small boats since 1958 in Lomazzo, in the province of Como, has decided to focus on a rebranding operation to mark its 65th anniversary. The 2023 of the shipyard, founded by Giancarlo Verga in 1958 and now renamed just Verga 1958, will see other innovations in addition to the new name.
Verga 1958 – The news ahead of the 65th anniversary
The construction site is preparing to turn 65 in style. First, the rebranding of the site, which also changes its name from Verga-Plast to Verga 1958 in honor of its founding year. Today the company, run by Franca Verga and Roberto Bitturini with their children Elisa and Stefano Bitturini, wants to celebrate the long tradition without ceasing to look to the future. Among the newest additions to the site is the new Verga 1958 Boutique website, which integrates the online shop within the main site. Two new models that will be unveiled during 2023 will peep on the online store, including at boat shows, where the company will return to participate.
Transparent boat, but also environmentally sustainable
One of the shipyard’s most famous lines is the “transparent boats,” namely the Coral View 250 and the Tender 220 T, with their transparent polycarbonate hulls that are shockproof, saltproof and UV-resistant. Due to their special construction, these boats allow the bottom to be observed through the hull while sailing. But Verga 1958 has also, since time immemorial, been sensitive to environmental issues. Since its founding 65 years ago, the Lomazzo shipyard’s goal has been to create quality boats that are safe, a symbol of Made in Italy and environmentally friendly. Just look at the latest projects of Verga to understand this. For example. Coral Life 250, a boat launched a year and a half ago by the shipyard and perfect for sailing in a 100% green way. The hull is made of recycled and recyclable plastic, and in addition to rowing propulsion, this boat is optimized to be compatible with an electric motor. This tender also allows entry into all reserves, nature parks and protected areas that allow it, precisely because it does not use a heat engine.
