Sea0Spot – The new system for softening the water in marinas.

When one is in port with one’s boat, one usually takes advantage of the connections and facilities that are made available to us from land: both for power and running water. Sea0Spot is the watermaker from HP Watermakers which, in addition to its normal desalination functions, also allows you to treat marina water, so you can be sure to use filtered and softened water even in port.

Sea0Spot HP Watermakers – The 2-in-1 System

HP Kilo - The watermaker on which the new Sea0Spot was installed.
HP Kilo – The watermaker on which the new Sea0Spot was installed.

It’s called Se0Spot and it’s the solution that those at Italy’s HP Watermakers designed and built to have the ultimate system for treating water on board. The system is an evolution of the HP Kilo desalinator, to which are incorporated the functions of the MTW Basic product, introduced last year, which enables water softening and nanofiltration of marina water. In essence, Sea0Spot is the HP Kilo watermaker but with a new inlet for marina water, a new solenoid valve, and updated software. Therefore, Sea0Spot can also be retrofitted to any HP Watermakers brand watermaker.

How it works

The new nanofiltration and softening system is activated at the shipowner’s request with a dedicated button, which triggers a solenoid valve that can open the dock water arrival line. The water is filtered through the same membranes used for desalination, but the process takes place at lower pressure. Once treated, the resulting water has very low levels of mineralization and hardness, so it contains little limestone, and is perfect for use by all freshwater systems and boat washing. The user can safely return to the desalination function by simply pressing the appropriate button.

  • Sea0Spot will be on display at Boot Düsseldorf at the HP Watermakers booth (Hall 10, 10C55)
