Danish shipyard Nordship Yachts, which specializes in building long-distance cruising bluewater, including custom, comes to the market with something new. On the 12- to 13-meter range Nordship had in the range a dated boat, the Nordship 40 that is more than 10 years old, hence the need to present something new: the
Nordship 420 DS.
Nordship 420 DS – The uncompromising bluewater
The firm then came up with an evolution of 40, which is still a cornerstone of the site, presenting the new Nordship 420 DS, where the two letters obviously stand for Deck Saloon. Raised dinette and panoramic deckhouse are thus the essence of the new boat, whose water lines are an evolution of those of the 40, with new and more modern appendages than those of the old 12-meter. Many details are changing, starting with the new, more modern, continuous-windowed deckhouse. The sail plan has been rethought, increasing the length of the mast; at the bow there is now a structural dolphin house that also houses the anchor. As on all Nordships, there are several customization options on the smallest in the range. We are not yet talking about custom models like the 500 and 570, but discerning owners will have the opportunity to make their boat unique.
Spacious interior thanks to Deck Saloon
The standard interior layout on the Nordship 420 DS includes a spacious raised saloon, thanks to the Deck Saloon, which offers several seats on a U-shaped sofa around a large dining table on the port side. Here you can enjoy a panoramic view thanks to the large windows. Also on the same level is a chart table with space for instruments. To starboard, forward of the salon, is an inline galley equipped for longer sailings, with enough room for six people. The aft master cabin is furnished with a large double bed, with easy access from either side, while the passage area is a cozy area with many possibilities for customization.
