The latest cruiser unveiled by the Jeanneau shipyard for the Sun Odyssey range-the Sun Odyssey 380 – is designed to be the best cruising sailboat in its class. From the hull to the appendages, from the sail plans to the design and ergonomics, everything is designed to make this 11-meter yacht the perfect cruising boat.
Sun Odyssey 380 – Triple keel option
The Marc Lombard Design studio designed a hull with the usual pronounced edge from stern to bow, a solution that on the one hand allows for greater stability when sailing, with the boat tilted, and on the other hand increases the space available below deck. Compared with the 389, the hull length is 38 cm longer. The walkways run unobstructed and in a single plane along the deck, as on the larger models. There are two options for the keel – L-shaped: the short one fishes 1.56 meters, the long one goes up to 2 meters. There is also option to have the lifting keel, with draft ranging from 1.31 to 2.70 m for those who like to sail in shallow water but also want to have a performance sailing dinghy.

Minimal and very spacious interior
Inside, Piaton Yacht Design’s design recalls classic Jeanneau lines, but more emphasis has been placed on perceived interior volume and simplified lines: space management and bulkheads have been rethought to increase both visually and physically the available volume. The salon of Sun Odyssey 380 is bright, with an L-shaped galley full of storage space and with the two sofas (one C-shaped on the port side and one running along the starboard broadside, forward of the chart table) from which you can eat in comfort on the extendable table.
