5 used boats from 8.80 to 14.60 m
Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 29.2 – 8.80 m – Perfect small cruiser
The first of the used boats we are proposing is a perfect vessel if you are looking for a boat that is undemanding to maintain and easy to cruise on, even as a family. We are talking about a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 29.2 (8.80 x 2.98 m).
In production since 1998, the Sun Odyssey 29.2 has been produced in more than 250 examples. Similar in layout to its big brother 32.2, it was also designed by Jaques Fauroux, who favored safety and habitability over exaggerated performance. In spite of this, the SO 29.2 does quite well in medium winds, especially at carrying gaits. In strong winds it stays balanced at the helm and passes the wave with agility.
On deck, equipment is simplified as much as possible, the cockpit is well sheltered, and the stern offers a convenient descent to the sea. The interior: forward a cabin with a double V berth; in the center a square with opposing sofas; on either side of the descent on the port side the galley and on the starboard side the chart table. Aft is a cabin with a large “bunk” and bathroom.
The model for sale, dated 2004, can be seen in Nettuno (in Lazio) and is complete with all equipment. The 20-hp Yanmar engine is overhauled, the autopilot is Raymarine, and also included in the price is the tender with a 3.5-hp Yamaha engine.
Hanse 312 – 9.45 m – Cruising, but not too much
The second of the boats used in the review, also a watercraft, makes comfort its strong point, but-there is a but. Perhaps not everyone knows that theHanse 312 (9.45 x 3.20 m), like so many of the German shipyard’s models, is the brainchild of Judel Vrolijk, one of the world’s most famous studios, especially for the speed of their hulls.
Even this 312, looking so “quiet,” hides a high-performance fairing. This combination earned him the title of European Boat of the Year in 2002.
Externally, the Hanse 312 features a classic long deckhouse with a traditional design and an equally simple, marine cockpit. The sail plan makes it clear that this is a boat capable of good performance even in light winds, thanks to the generous size of the mainsail and the possibility of opting for a self-tacking jib or a high-coverage genoa. As for the bulb, one can opt for the traditional one with a draft of 1.75 m or for a 0.95/1.40 m moving drift.
The spacious and well-finished interior, thanks to the generous width that extends aft, accommodates two cabins and a saloon with two convertible sofas. A separate toilet, chart table and kitchenette complete the accommodations. Fiberglass construction of a good standard.
This boat, from 2005, can also be seen in Lazio, in Anzio (Rome). It is complete with every convenience, Yanmar 30 horsepower engine and being equipped with tiller steering you will feel like you are driving a big drift!
USED BOATS – Hanse 35 – 10.59 m – A great little boat
We continue with the third of the boats used “under the lens,” also a Hanse boat: specifically, a Hanse 35 (10.59 x 3.55 m). From the smaller 320 slightly earlier, the German shipyard’s 35-foot model, once again designed by Judel/Vrolijk (and in production from 2008 to 2010), differs markedly by presenting design solutions reminiscent of larger Hanse models.
A less squared-off deckhouse with more graceful lines, a deck plan the maneuvers deferred to the cockpit, and provision for self-tacking in the headsail make it really easy to steer even with a small crew. Customizable interior layout that is offered with two or three cabins. Good height of rooms that are rationally distributed 0.
This is a sailboat in perfect condition, launched in 2009, which has always been kept on Lake Maggiore. Always winter storage. Complete with various accessories (tarpaulin, sails, gennaker, etc.) 30 hp motor.
USED BOATS: Dufour 425 GL – 12.60 m – Ferns and Roseo, what a pair!
The fourth of the used boats for sale on our classifieds marketplace is a Dufour 425 GL (12.60 x 4.16 m), the French shipyard’s cruiser that seamlessly combines a good-performing hull with a spacious, well-living interior.
The protagonist of this good compromise is the Felci Roseo couple, the former the author of a hull that is both high-performance and very marine at the same time, and the latter capable of realizing below-deck environments worthy of higher class boats.
The deck has a clean and rational layout with ample space that can be devoted to sunbathing and a cockpit that can accommodate six people inside with great personal comfort.
The model we propose, visible in Eastern Liguria, is from 2008. Powered by Volvo 55 Hp, it has 3 cabins, 2 bathrooms, teak deck and cockpit, Webasto heating, retractable bow thruster, full electronics, bimini, sprayhood.
Beneteau Oceanis 48 – 14.60 m – Cruising Queen
We close our review of used boats with a Beneteau Oceanis 48 (14.60 x 4.74 m). This boat is one of the queens of cruising boats with spaces, above and below deck, that are unsuspected.
To the point of having, in this configuration, as many as five cabins (four double cabins and one cabin with bunk beds). Air conditioning in dinette and cabins. And three bathrooms with electric toilets. One appreciates the light diffused by the large broadside portholes and the possible choice between the contemporary feel of the light Oak or more classic Mahogany wood paneling.
In exterior design it is well balanced, with its mainsail rollbar and mast placed in the center, the hull stable and comfortable at any gait. Thus in fact the Oceanis 48 takes an important step in the combination of speed, safety and ease of life on board.
Top accessories, with teak deck, air conditioning with Onan generator, bow thruster, furling mainsail. This used Beneteau Oceanis 48 is maintained in mint condition. Five-cabin version, three electric toilets, full teak. Equipped with furling mainsail, furling jib, electric winch on port side deckhouse, bow thruster. Mahogany-colored interior. Hot water, double refrigerator, U-shaped kitchen on the right side.
