Star Clippers – The Story of Yachting
Since 1991, Star Clippers has offered its passengers an exciting cruise vacation alternative; a “mega-yacht” experience aboard authentic replicas of the classic clipper ships that plied the oceans during the 19th century.
The brainchild of Swedish entrepreneur Mikael Krafft, Star Clippers operates three of the world’s largest square-sailed sailing ships. Star Clipper, Star Flyer, and the flagship Royal Clipper are four- and five-masted sailing ships that offer the activities, services, and atmosphere of a private yacht, but with all the comforts of luxury charter. These sailing ships then are able to offer sailing and sea lovers a unique sailing experience in full harmony with the environment and often far from crowded ports.
You can have unforgettable experiences in incredible places that are reached by truly sailing on board very special boats that are unmatched in the world. Suffice it to say that the flagship Royal Clipper was officially recognized back in 2001 by the “Guinness Book of World Records” as the world’s largest square-sailed ship.
Together with the other two vessels that are part of the Star Clippers owner company’s fleet-namely Star Flyer and Star Clipper-they are ancient in philosophy and at the same time modern, high-tech pleasure craft that offer a comfortable sailing experience safely, with experienced crews and the elegant atmosphere of a yacht.
Star Clippers – Travel beyond the Caribbean
For the 2022-2023 winter season, these full-luxury vessels offer both classic sightseeing routes between the main islands of the Caribbean and a brand-new and fascinating itinerary that takes in Central America. In fact, the latter will take you to safe but adventurous destinations such as Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama, with its magnificent canal.
