Engel & Völkers Yachting (the “nautical” arm of the large luxury goods brokerage firm) has sold the luxury yacht Regina, which starred on the big screen alongside actor Daniel Craig as James Bond in the 2012 film Skyfall. Final price: 8.85 million euros.
SKETCH OF JAMES BOND ‘S YACHT
Launched in 2011 in Turkey, the sailing yacht Regina, at 56 meters long and 9.5 meters wide, can reach a maximum speed of 12 knots. This “behemoth” with a steel hull and elegant mahogany interior also counts on dual engines (2 x 440 hp Man + 1 x 280 hp Yanmar) and 2 generators (2 x 40 Kwa + 22.5 kVA Kohler).
The six cabins (including 2 master cabins with king-size double beds, 3 doubles and 1 twin) present come to accommodate up to a total of twelve people. Then there is the master stateroom that dominates over the others with a private lounge and dressing room and several indoor and outdoor areas that provide ample space for relaxation.
Equipped with every comfort, it is elegant yet understated with a few special details. A white grand piano can be found in the living room, while the onyx bathrooms, filter soft and captivating lights. 7 crew members take constant care of both the boat and its guests.
All cabins have their own bathroom and shower stall, individual air conditioning control, TV, DVD, music, electric toilets, hair dryer, fire extinguisher and smoke alarm.
Actor Daniel Craig, a.k.a. Agent 007, and Bond Girl Bérénice Marlohe are just some of the high-profile guests who have been aboard the Regina.
JAMES BOND ‘S SENSE OF SAILBOATS
The James Bond played by Craig loves sailing boats. Even in the film preceding Skyfall, Casino Royale, we see him aboard a beautiful Spirit 54 (16, 7 m long and 3.4 m wide). Indeed, the British agent could only opt for an English boat, and what a boat. Elegant, traditional yet modern, with a teak deck and mahogany trim, she was built by the renowned Ypswich shipyards.
The deckhouse has no stanchion, and the sail plan is decidedly modern. The interior is designed for purely owner use: two large cabins, dinette with mahogany table, and fully equipped galley.
