Doyle Sails Italia joins the VELA Cup, the great sailing circuit that runs throughout Italy. For this year, you will be spoiled for choice with eight stops scheduled throughout the peninsula.
The first leg is a great classic, vvvvwe are talking about the TAG Heuer VELA Cup in Santa Margherita Ligure, which aims to improve on last year’s record with nearly 300 boats registered over the two days of racing. The first event is May 4-5 in Santa Margherita Ligure in what is the home of the TAG Heuer VELAFestival .
Doyle partners with VELA Cup
Doyle Sails Italia, which has been an official partner of the VELA Cup for the past two years, will also be on this route. Doyle Sails Italia was one of the first sailmakers to join the Doyle Group and is now a major player in the industry in Europe, with lofts in Palermo and La Spezia, and a sales and service network throughout the Mediterranean.
Who can participate in the VELA Cup?
All, the TAG Heuer VELA Cup is open to all sailors and lovers of the sport, monohulls and multihulls, cabin cruisers and open, racer or “cruiser” and without age limitationą without using the tonnage certificate (IRC/ORC/CIM). What’s new for 2019 among super prizes and vintage boats
- Two super prizes – Two prizes will be raffled among all boats participating in the sail will be raffled off that can make even the last person happy: a valuable TAG Heuer watch and a Garmin inReach satellite communicator.
- TAG Heuer VELA Cup becomes “vintage ” – From this year there will be prizes for “vintage” boats divided as follows: “vintage boats” up to 1969 and “classic boats” from 1970 to 1988 (end of IOR)
