Competitive on the race courses, this 12-and-a-half-footer also features a sleek aesthetic and comfortable cruising interior. The hull has fairly rounded center sections, with significant maximum beam and very thin entrances. At the engine, the submerged volumes are filled with a “bustle” that, by raising the value of the prismatic coefficient, makes it possible to maintain a proper buoyancy even with the embarked weights at cruise.
Equipped with a high righting coefficient, the Comet 41 S is capable of carrying as much as 108 sq. m. of canvas: relative to displacement, it is one of the best-sailed boats in its class. Three bulb options are provided, two with a boot and different draft (2.20 meters the standard one and 2.45 in the regatta version) and an “open” one with torpedo. The sword rudder is narrow and highly elongated and, partly due to the 10° compensation, provides sensitivity and lightness even at high heeling angles.
