The Oceanis 34 completed the range of smaller Beneteau family members consisting of the 31- and 37-footers. Like its two siblings, this 10-meter also bears the signature of Finot-Conq, as far as the hull and deck are concerned, and the Nauta Design studio for the interior design. Unlike its predecessors, the latter seems to make the most of the volumes below decks thanks to an adguate choice of hues and colors for the furnishings that makes the visitor feel the senzazione of being in particularly spacious rooms. The possibility of choosing between a two- or three-cabin version, the latter certainly more suitable for those who intend to charter the boat, has made it “top of the class.” The industrial rationalization of the product-which allowed for the use of solutions already adopted in previous models-allows the transalpine shipyard to offer a product with good value for money.
COVER
The shipyard offered it in Avantage or Elegance trim, but there are numerous options that make the Oceanis 34 customizable. The fold-down aft seat simplifies access to the cockpit. The halyard winches are positioned at the sides of the drum. We found the mainsail luff to be a bit short, as well as the position of the shrouds mooring lines to be awkward as it reduces the passage to the bow.
INTERIOR
The two-cabin version is definitely the one we prefer. The large L-shaped kitchen dominates the entrance below deck. The square, more forward, consists of a U-shaped sofa around the table and one at the broadside. The latter also serves the chart table positioned further forward. The cabins appear voluminous although they are somewhat lacking in stowage space.
