What if you were good at racing?

The VELA Cup on the water is divided between Regatta ranking (for those racing with gennaker and spinnaker) and Cruise ranking (for those racing with white sails). To the Overall winner of the regatta class will go 6 Plastimo SL180 self-inflating vests, 6 Iris 50 compasses and 3 Doyle Sails bags. There is no shortage of prizes, sign up now!!!

1. You are never too old or too young for the SAIL Cup! The legendary Angela Besana Gagliardi who at 100 years old participated in the VELA Cup in Santa Margherita. In September, in Capo d’Orlando, Noah Siliato, just 3 months old, raced aboard Gianluca Roveraro’s Pogo 12.50 Magia!
2. There are no old boats, they just become “vintage.” If you think your boat is not performing as well as it used to, don’t worry. In 2019, the VELA Cup will have a classification for “vintage boats” up to 1969 and “classicboats” from 1970 to 1988 (end of IOR).
3. If you are not feeling “too competitive,” you can choose to sail in the “Cruising Class” where only white sails are sailed, with a dedicated ranking. The important thing is to have fun!
