YES
, Yachting Entertainment Show, begins with the Optimist, the world’s most important and popular boat for youngsters, July 14-16 at the Hannibal Marina
A three-day event dedicated to the next generation of women and men, July 14 -16, will be the opening event of
YES
, Yachting Entertainment Show in Monfalcone at the Hannibal Marina, thanks to the co-organization of the Hannibal Yacht Club.
The Optimist Gold Cup, in fact, will bring several hundred young sailors to the Gulf of Trieste to compete a few days after the World Championship in Riva del Garda (June 30 to July 10).
Surely, among the many Gold Cup participants was also the podium of this world championship postponed for a year because of the pandemic.
There were numerous testimonials for this event who sent messages via social media as little tutorials for the youngsters: Among the many were Olympic medalists Alessandra Sensini, Peter Holmberg, Ian Walker and Luca Devoti, who invited those who are taking up the sport for the first time to experience how sailing is one of the best gyms for facing life and the choices it imposes with character and determination, just as one does in a regatta against the sea and wind.
The event program includes two or three daily practice runs depending on weather conditions, with onshore entertainment with games and raffles and also an F1 simulator provided by the Hannibal Marina.
Also on July 15, at the conclusion of the sea trials, the meeting of tomorrow’s sailors with today’s champions: some members of Team Luna Rossa, with Max Sirena in the lead, joined by Tommaso Chieffi, who also has extensive experience with no less than four America’s Cup participations that began with Italia, through Moro di Venezia, Oracle and Shosholoza.
An exceptional opportunity to compare notes and learn the secrets of those who, precisely on Optimists, took the first steps at the base for their success.
Conclusion on July 16 with the last trials and the awards ceremony, again at the Hannibal Marina, which contributed, with its Sports Director Loris Plet, with the Municipality of Monfalcone and the Tito Nordio Sailing School, to build a symbolic event for the support of sports activities of the youngest.
The Optimist Gold Cup is part of
YES
, Yachting Entertainment Show, a series of events that will enliven the Gulf of Trieste from July 14 to 18 and will have its heart in the Village near the Royal Staircase, right in front of Piazza dell’Unità d’IItalia. Not a commercial village, but a village that should be a reason to meet and where some socially engaged associations will also be present because
YES
matches sports activities with support for those who need it most; in fact, proceeds will be donated to charity.
All those who want to join the policy of support aimed at others of
YES
, can register for the first YES Prosecco Cup Trophy, scheduled for Sunday, July 18, and, with a day of sea and fun, make a contribution to help those in need.
