harken elementUnless you want to reduce weight to the bone on a racing boat, what are the key features you look for in a block? Simple: strength and durability.

At Milan Yachting Week – The Digital Boat Show you will find the right option if your old blocks can’t take it anymore and you want to replace them with models of absolute quality but without spending a fortune.

The “essential” and no-frills blocks for durability

You can find them in the Harken booth; they are the Element blocks. Taking a look at the products you will discover how Harken’s engineers have managed to eliminate everything that does not contribute to the durability and strength of the product, making an essential, inexpensive product (prices start at 45 euros), easy to maintain but with the guarantee of the quality of Harken blocks.

The secret of Element blocks? They feature cheeks with curved lines made of forged 6061-T6 aluminum and undergo a “hard” anodizing process to resist corrosion for greater durability. The pulleys are stainless steel, as are the shackles.

They are the ideal solution on your cruising boat because they are available in so many versions, for different line diameters and in different configurations. There is no maneuver, on board, that cannot be handled by these blocks. The booth also has a nice video in which Harken’s mechanical engineers briefly explain how they designed Element blocks.
