Osmosea is an Italian company that has been producing and developing reverse osmosis desalinators and water purifiers for more than 10 years. At Milan Yachting Week you will find their line of products designed specifically for boating, with all the specifications , here we explain why they are such special desalinators and how they work.
The system recovers the energy it uses
Much of the energy produced during the reverse osmosis process is recovered by the Osmosea desalinator, about 85 percent according to the Italian brand’s engineers. This means that it is enough to have batteries on board for services and there is no need to have an expensive power generator to run the desalinator, but more importantly it means that even on small boats one can equip such a system. Large, energy-hungry desalinators are a distant memory; if you have a small boat with a few springs on the keel you surely know that until recently it was difficult, if not impossible, to get a desalinator on board. NEW 12, Osmosea’s smallest model consumes an average of 9-10 Ah and can produce 25-30 liters of fresh water per hour, a remarkable amount when we consider that it operates without a power generator!
It integrates with your instrumentation, or you control it from the remote panel
Osmosea systems integrate seamlessly with NMEA 2000 multifunction displays, and thus with most boat-mounted electronics systems. Or there is a proprietary solution, because together with the desalinator Osmosea you will also have a panel, color touch screen or physical, with which to control the desalinator: a start/stop button to start the reverse osmosis process, information on the salinity of the water, the liters per hour processed, the energy consumption And lots of other data. Equipped with an automatic pressure regulation and automatic flushing system, Osmosea’s watermaker, in its different variants, is the ideal solution for both small and large boats.
