We boarded Brenta’s new B34 at the TAG Heuer VELA Cup in Chiavari and were impressed; once we got down to the dock we exclaimed, “Yes, this really is a Brenta.”
B34, PHILOSOPHY
Brenta Yachts shipyard manager Enrico Malingri told us about the philosophy of the 10-meter (or rather 9.99-meter) vessel, which to call a vessel is definitely an understatement. It is not just a daysailer, but a true miniature superyacht: easy to sail even alone or with a small crew, uncompromisingly designed to be super-fast on the water. A boat that, Malingri told us, really appeals to a certain type of customer: those who have a house on the sea and are looking for an object to enjoy, even solo.
B34, THE VIDEO.
The B34 has an ergonomic study of its large cockpit that allows comfortable seating for six people, mainsail and jib adjustment with systems automated by electric winches.
The jib is handled with a self-turning rail, and the integrated dolphin hoist allows the hoisting of Code 0 and gennaker when the gait widens from upwind to transverse to then downwind.
The water lines of the B34 take their cues from the boats designed by Luca Brenta in recent years, with their elegant lines and unmistakable design.
TOP CONSTRUCTION
The construction makes use of the latest high-end technologies, with laminate made by epoxy resin infusion, hybrid carbon fabrics and E-Glass for the hull. All supporting structures are 100% carbon with unidirectional fibers. This results in a stiff and lightweight hull.
THE INTERIOR.
The interior layout features a minimalist design in typical Brenta style, with a double bed in the bow, a closet on the port side, and a hidden toilet with cabinet above concealed in a bench in the middle section of the boat at the mast.
Toward the stern in the entrance area find accommodation for two benches/sofas/berths, accompanied by two cabinets containing sink and stove on the left and refrigerator on the right. The B34 is proposed as a daysailer with weekend-ender capabilities for the more sporty sailor.
A high-modulus carbon mast with rod rigging, state-of-the-art rigging, and many fine little details complete the B34. There are also options designed for cruising such as a removable cockpit table and swim ladder as well as a hot shower in the cockpit. Whether you want to use the B34 in a regatta or on a weekend with friends, rest assured that you will have fun.
