You didn’t see these boats at the Cannes, Genoa and Barcelona boat shows: these are four “goodies” previewed at theAnnapolis Boat Show (Oct. 10-14). From the inflatable dinghy to the uncompromising catamaran, from the old-fashioned bluewater signed by German Frers to the typical “made in USA” cruiser. We, personally, loved the KC62. How about you?

TIWAL 2
After the success of the Tiwal 3 (nearly 1,000 boats sold), Tiwal is launching its latest small boat: Tiwal 2, the even lighter, more compact inflatable dinghy that is ready to sail in 15 minutes and very easy to assemble. A great solution as a “toy” to keep aboard cruising boats (and for fun once at anchor) because it is so easy to carry in two bags of 145x40x35 cm (hull) and 110x40x10 (sails, rudder, daggerboard and components). The boat weighs 40 kilograms, is 2.80 m long and 1.50 m wide. MORE INFO HERE.

CATALINA 545
It is not in the water but the Catalina 545 is officially unveiled. From the desk of Gerry Douglass, this bluewater is a natural evolution of the popular Catalina 425 with similar lines and features found on all 5 Series boats. 17.13 m long and 4.75 m wide, fishing 1.92 for a light displacement of 16.32 t. MORE INFO HERE.

KC62
The latest from South African boatyard Kinetic is called the KC62: a catamaran with no compromises to offer more performance, more luxury and more boating fun. Carbon hulls are lightweight and high-powered, making them the ideal cruiser/racer for sailors who know what they are looking for, whether racing, cruising around the world, sporting or relaxing. The project is by Simonis Voogd. 18.9 m long and 8.8 m wide, it has a draft ranging from 1.4 to 3.1 m for a total displacement of 15,750 kg, very little for a cat of this size. MORE INFO HERE.
OUTBOUND 56
For those who like to sail long, hard and in the most challenging seas there is the new Outbound 56, designed by German Frers, with a classic and proven design. Accessories, construction and components are of absolute quality. The interior layout can vary greatly depending on the owner’s choices. At 17.17 m long and 4.57 m wide, it has two keel options for a draft of 2.13 or 1.82 m. The displacement is 22.77 t with a ballast of 9.16. MORE INFO HERE.
