Who will be the next head of Italian sailing? It all seemed a foregone conclusion with only one candidate in the running, current FIV (Italian Sailing Federation) vice president Francesco Ettore. Then like a bombshell on the web came the almost “spontaneous” candidacy of Ettore Thermes, dubbed the Beppe Grillo of sailing. In a few days, on Sept. 10, it will be known whether there will be the single, somewhat Bulgarian candidate or there will be two to vie on Oct. 29 for the title of “boss” of the Federvela over the next four years. But what do these two candidates propose? Change or preserve? We retrieved their election programs, the ones they sent to circles and area federations, hunting for votes. Read them and give your opinion with the poll we offer (an idea “stolen” from GEAS NBC Vela Colico club, which asked its members to vote between the two candidates for the FIV presidency).
