Kai Lenny is a well-known name in the world of “watersports.” Champion in surfing, SUP, skilled in windsurfing, wing-foil and kite surfing. See here what the Hawaiian phenomenon has come up with: the kite-marine, capable of gliding with three people on board, propelled solely by the kite sail.
How did he do it? He makes it very simple: he took a Hobie Cat 16 and attached the “chicken loop” (the device that allows quick release of the kite from the trapeze, leaving it tied to a single connected line) of an 11-meter kite to a soft shackle (soft shackle) where the Hobie’s mast is usually rigged. Management of the kite, with the control bar, is done by a lying down crew member, as the video well shows! Have fun!
